Colors of Pride is a set of six miniatures written to represent the colors of the standard pride flag. As an openly gay man, I wanted this piece to be a celebration and an exploration of queer identity in a forum which doesn't have a lot of explicitly queer music. Each movement is built around the RGB codes associated with each color, creating the main melodic line in each.

This piece was commissioned by the Plaza Winds Quintet in Kansas City, MO, premiering December 2020. Colors of Pride was an Honorable Mention in the 2021 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers Competition
