Forest Rituals (2016, rev. 2017) is a piece with various layers. On the surface, it is a trio based around the image of a pagan ritual occuring at the setting of the sun and the rising of the moon, full of life, dance, reverence, and mystery. On a deeper, more personal level, it is a piece about new beginnings. Ricucci-Hill wrote the piece for the Zodiac Music Academy and Festival in Valdeblore, France which was their first international performance as well as their first music festival. Upon returning, the piece was revised utilizing the knowledge and experience gained from the festival, which foresaw a shift in their compositional voice. Forest Rituals was awarded 3rd in the 2017 Abundant Silence Composition Competition.
