In a way, there are a lot of reasons that make sense why I would allude to the Oscar Wilde quote in the title of this piece. Firstly, the idea behind this piece is very much meant to invoke dreaming; not by summoning some sonic mysticism per se, but in form, albeit in a round-about way. The score attempts to blend four distinct sections, each of which could easily be expanded and made into their own distinct and concise movements. In this way, the goal was to imitate that dream-like way of storytelling, with plot threads starting and stopping, almost without resolution, maybe coming back later.
