The electronics do not generate an independent sound nor does it change the sound of the guitar. In this case its only function is to record sections of the music in real time and play them back at specific points so as to create multiple layers of sounds. Throughout the piece, as the live music continues, layers are placed on top of one another and are repeated in a loop. In fact, using this sophisticated looper, a kind of complex canon is created.
The recording was made with binaural technology: Binaural recording is a method of recording sound with the intent to create a 3-D stereo sound sensation for the listener of actually being in the room with the performers or instruments.
