Transitori permanenti

"Transitori permanenti" is dedicated to the victims of the Bologna massacre (2-8-1980). The 85 harmonies of the piece (and the connected rhythmic patterns) are derived from their names, as if they were pronounced by the instruments of the orchestra.
The five displaced wind instruments are coupled with the five solos of the Strings, to symbolically represent the "cori battenti" technique between the two organs in Basilica of St. Petronius.
