Rodrigo Pascale (b. 1996) is a Brazilian composer currently based in the United States. His musical journey began in Brazil, where he achieved recognition with multiple compositions featured in regional recitals and prominent national events, notably the XXIX Panorama da Música Brasileira Atual. At this important national gathering, Pascale made his mark with the premiere of “Morro do Leme,” performed by Eduardo Monteiro and Thalyson Rodrigues. His compositions have also graced the repertoire of prestigious Brazilian ensembles like the UFRJ Sax Ensemble, UFRJ Brass Quintet, Duo Adour, Cron Ensemble, Quinteto Lorenzo Fernandez, and the bassoonist Ariane Petri.
Since 2019, Rodrigo Pascale has resided in the United States, where he has been a dynamic force in collaborative music-making. These fruitful partnerships have spawned compositions such as “Concrescènza” with Hinge Ensemble, “Assemblage” with Erin Rogers, “Bifurcation” with Splinter Reeds, “Malleable” with Teresa Díaz de Cossio, and “Lineas y Puntos” with TRAMA Ensamble eléctrico. Notably, Pascale has received commissions to create pieces for Apply Triangle and SANS; Duo. Pascale’s compositions have graced the stages of esteemed festivals and venues worldwide, including the New York City Electronic Music Festival (NYCEMF), St. Petersburg International New Music Festival, SEAMUS, Espacios Sonoros Festival (Argentina), National Student Electronic Music Event (NSEME), Electronic Music Midwest (EMM), Performance Media Festival (PMF~), V International Congress of Music and Mathematics (Brazil), and the Tesselat Electronic / Electroacoustic Concert. His talent has been recognized through prestigious awards, including victory in the International Composition Competition organized by Sound Silence Thought with his piece “Discontinuous Mediation I” and winning the Festival Expresiones Contemporáneas 2020 Call for Scores with “Unnest” for Bassoon solo.

Currently, Rodrigo Pascale is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in composition at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, under the guidance of renowned composer Felipe Lara. His academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a master’s degree from Western Michigan University, where he studied with Marcos Nogueira, Liduino Pitombeira, Lisa Coons, and Christopher Biggs. Additionally, Pascale had private lessons with Georg Friedrich Haas, Arthur Kampela, and Joshua Fineberg.
