Beatriz Raimundo is a portuguese cellist who began her musical studies with Catherine Strynckx at the National Conservatory Music School. It is especially in chamber music that she feels at home with the Tejo Quartet, winner of the first prize in the Prémio Jovens Músicos competition in Portugal in the chamber music category in 2019. In 2016 she won the first prize in the International Competition of Cidade do Fundão as a soloist. As a versatile performer, in addition to the classical repertoire, she frequently participates in projects of contemporary music and early music with Baroque cello. In 2015, she was admitted to the Geneva University of Music in the class of Ophélie Gaillard, a course which she ended in 2018 with the highest mark. During the first year of her master's degree in pedagogy, she joined Hans Jakob-Eschenburg's class at the Hoschule Für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, having won the "Anne and Marthe Torcapel" prize for her final recital in September 2020. She is currently studying for a master's degree in improvisation in Geneva where she is also a professor at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique Danse et Théâtre. She plays with a 19th century Charles Gaillard cello, donated by the Lalive Foundation.
