Petenera

Petenera - an ancient spanish song and dancing genre, one of predecessors of style of a flamenco. History of his origin goes back to the 15th century (to Rekonkista's time and the beginning of expansion of Spaniards in America).
On one of legends the founder ot this tupe of singing became the gipsy by the name of La Petenera. Binding own tunes with popular spanish motives, this cantaor has laid the foundation for original peteneras style in which songs strong poetic feelings of soul are sung.
