Luciano Maria Moricca, born in Siracusa (Sicily, Italy), began studying oboe at age 11 with Mr. Antonino Spicchiale. He graduated with top marks from the Siracusa music high school under Mr. Gianluca Terranova, then continued his studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan with Mr. Daniele Scanziani. Currently, he is completing his training at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel under Mr. Karel Schoofs.

During his studies, he performed as a guest oboist and English horn player at Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, collaborated with contemporary ensembles like I Solisti and Spectra, and recorded "20th Century Music for Wind Ensemble" with Da Vinci Publishing.
