An outstanding clarinettist and bass clarinettist, she completed her studies at the University and Performing Arts Vienna and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Her musical work covers a wide range of areas, from classical repertoire to experimental, contemporary and improvised music. In addition to her work in various ensembles and as a soloist, Petra has also discovered her passion for composing in recent years.
The recognition for her artistic work is reflected in numerous awards, including the SKE Publicity Prize in 2020 and 1st prize in the Trondheim Sinfonietta's Call for Scores as a composer in 2022. A particular highlight was the selection of her work "MADAME PELE" as the Austrian contribution to the ISCM World New Music Days 2023 in South Africa.
Her chamber music recordings have been released on renowned labels such as NAXOS, KAIROS, ein_klang records, Gramola, god records and Stockhausen Edition. Particularly noteworthy is her highly acclaimed CD "Fantasy Studies", released in 2018 on orlando records and consisting of her own compositions.
Petra's works have been presented on international stages and at renowned festivals, including Wien Modern/A, Dark Music Days in Reykjavik/IS, Musikverein Wien/A, TRANSART Festival Bozen/I, Crossroads Festival Yerevan/AM, Chulitna Lodge Research Institute Alaska/USA, Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, Florida/USA, European Clarinet Congress Tilburg/NL, Chromas – Associazione Musica Contemproanea Udine/I, Curitiba SIMN Festival/BRA, ISCM World New Music Days Johannesburg/RSA, Gare du Nord Basel/CH, Christchurch Arts Festival/NZ, Auckland Arts Festival/NZ and Festival Distat Terra/ARG.

As a dedicated music educator, Petra is also committed to promoting contemporary and classical music to children. She offers concerts and workshops to give young people young people access to music.
