Paolo Pellegrini graduated with honors in Clarinet Performance
from the Bolzano Conservatory, and then in Chamber Music from
the Estonian Academy of Music. He cultivates a deep interest in
contemporary music, and he premiered many works by the Hong
Kong composer Yung Sin Kan. Paolo is also an active orchestra
player, specialized in Eb clarinet, and a passionate teacher.
From February 2022 to January 2023 he was principal clarinet at the Pori Sinfonietta (Finland).

With pianist Nicola Possenti he founded the Duo Althea, and together they won numeros chamber music competitions in Italy and abroad. They played in numerous concerts, focusing on undiscovered and unusual repertoire, also collaborating with living composers. In collaboration with the Portuguese violinist Giulia Guarini, they won the call for proposals "Culture moves Europe - Second Call for Individual Mobility of artists and cultural professionals" co-funded by Creative Europe and the Goethe Institute, which will support the organisation of masterclasses and concerts at the Conservatòrio Regional da Horta (Azores Islands, Portugal) in July 2024.
