Konstantinos Koutroumpis was born in Athens in 1991. He started playing the piano at a young age, which ignited his passion for composition. He studied composition at the London College of Music, where he earned the Albert Thomas Howard Composition Award, and continued his studies at the University of Manchester. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Hong Kong BU, where he received 1st prize at NC Wong Young composers award, focusing on acoustic ecology incorporating insect ultrasound and natural patterns into his music.
Koutroumpis has earned awards and collaborated with ensembles and orchestras worldwide, including the Tonkunstler Orchester in Austria, the Duisburger Philharmoniker in Germany, and the Stavanger Orchestra in Norway.
