The Conservatory of Music Salvador Seguí in Castellón presents the 4th edition of FESTMUSfestival of music specialized in promoting and spreading newly created music with technologies. In its debut as a festival in 2024, it will celebrate the VI International Interpretation Contest of Contemporary Music: Re_Cre@, amb el suport de l’Institut Superior d’Ensenyances Artístiques of the Comunitat Valenciana (ISEACV), Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC), Ajuntament de Castelló de la Plana, Auditori i Palau de Congressos de Castelló, Conselleria d’Innovació, Universitats, Ciència i Societat Digital.

Re_Cre@ is presented as a competition where young artists will showcase their skills in the interpretation of contemporary musical works in all forms, as it embraces both acoustic music and the fusion of performing arts or mixed arts, electronic music and electro-acoustic music, multimedia, and sound art.

This event continues with the aim of offering young performers an opportunity to promote their artistic careers, specifically as interpreters of newly created music. We hope it will also serve, from this first edition, as a model and inspiration for many other future musicians who can feel encouraged to explore the creative musical world of the time they live in, That they have a space where the merit of their learning, creativity, effort, and many other values are recognized and rewarded, as well as being endorsed by experts in the field and by our institutions.

Similarly, the continuation of this competition will provide support for the most recent musical composition and production, as the winning group in each edition will perform a world premiere of a commissioned work by a composer from the Valencian Community.

The competition, governed by rules designed to support performers and tailored for contemporary works, opens the stage to various ensembles and formats, including both chamber groups and ensembles, whether directed or not. The goal is to embark on a journey: to ensure that the music of our time reaches the public and that young performers are part of this new and current space, allowing them to express themselves with their own languages.
