More than thirty years after the plane crash that on December 6th 1990 caused the death of 12 young students of “Salvemini” Institute in Casalecchio di Reno, the Rocca dei Bentivoglio Foundation announces the composition contest "Girls and boys. Salvemini 1990”.

A qualified jury will select 3 composers and 3 female composers who will attend an artistic residence from July 24th to 29th 2023 at the agriturismo "Fattoria Quercia", under the guidance of the flautist Manuel Zurria and the composer Paolo Aralla.

The contest represents a unicum at national level, it is not strictly configured as a competition but aims to offer young composers the opportunity to share a growth path, both artistic and personal, in close relationship with the performer of their music.

RECIPIENTS

The contest is open to Italian and foreign composers residing in Italy, born from January 1st 1988 and who have turned 18 on 23 July 2023. Composers who have attended previous editions can also apply for the residency. In case of same scores, however, preference will be given to those applying for the first time.
