I am a composer, performer and conductor. My music is based on the perception of sound as a physical object, having perceivable size and tactile qualities.

I started my music career as a clarinet and saxophone player, and the fascination for the timbral potential of woodwinds consistently permeates my music as the source of colour, as a constant research for new expressivity. Performing on wind instruments, both as a soloist or in various formations, remains an important part of my musical life, as well as being the first exploration field for my compositions. I also trained as pianist and conductor, which enlarged my attention to harmony and use of large formations.

Inspired by architecture and physics, I often tend to conceive music as structure and space. My production, therefore, started aiming at the creation of a sound environment, an acoustic space in which the audience can linger and evade reality, and has gradually developed into the exploration of the spatial mental projection in the mind of the listener–research subject of my PhD at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

My music has been performed in prestigious venues in Italy, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Israel and China, by internationally acclaimed soloists and ensembles as Talea Ensemble (New York), Exaudi (London), Ensemble Intercontemporain (Paris), Divertimento Ensemble (Milan), Fractales Ensemble (Brussels), the English National Ballet (London), among others.

I studied in prestigious schools in Europe such as Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Accademia Romanini in Brescia, Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music in London. My composition mentors have been Azio Corghi, Stefano Gervasoni, Dai Fujikura, Simon Bainbridge, Oliver Knussen and Pierluigi Billone. I have also participated in seminars and workshops such as Impuls Academy (Graz–2015 & 2017), International Divertimento Ensemble Academy (Milan–2015), Royaumont Abbaye’s Voix Nouvelles programme (Paris–2016), Manifeste Academy IRCAM (Paris–2018), and Darmstadt Ferienkurse (Darmstadt–2018).
