A Fulbright-Spain grantee and versatile performer and freelance musician versed in chamber music, solo repertoire, orchestral pieces, historically informed performance, jazz, and modern music, Adriana Ruiz García chose double bass as her instrument when she started musical studies at the Valencia Municipal Conservatory. She obtained her BM at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) and started a professional career collaborating with several orchestras in the Barcelona area. In 2018, she moved to the United States to pursue a Master in Music Performance at Butler University (Indianapolis, IN) where she studied under David Murray and Ju-Fang Liu thanks to a Fulbright Grant from The Commission for the Intercultural, Educational and Scientific Exchange between Spain and the United States. She is currently a member of the 2021 cohort of the Global Leaders Program.

Adriana has been an active member of several youth orchestras and has developed a professional career as a collaborator for other ensembles. A versatile performer, she also regularly plays with several professional and amateur jazz groups and historically informed performance ensembles. As a chamber musician, she was selected as a participant for the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine on 2019. She has also developed and interest for improvisation and music from other cultures, and so she participated in the educational trip "Musicking Futures in Malaysia" in 2019.
