Diogo Mendes was born in Lisbon on the 31st of January, 1992. He began his musical studies at the age of 11 with professor Luis Bispo at the SMFOG music school and, in 2004, joined the Conservatório Regional de Setúbal, finishing the clarinet course with 18 marks by the tutoring of João Quítalo and Susana Valente. In 2014, he finished his degree in music at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa having as teachers Francisco Ribeiro and Paulo Gaspar. In this institution, he had the opportunity to work with professors Pietro Serafin, Artur Pizarro, Clélia Vital and Nuno Inácio. He completed master's degrees in performance (2016) and music teaching (2018) in Universidade de Évora having a final classification of 17 values in both with the teacher Ana Maria Santos. He attended masterclasses with teachers like Paulo Gaspar, Iva Barbosa, Etienne Lamaison, Josep Fuster, António Salguero, Camilo Irizo, Alain Damiens, Henri Bok, Eric Mandat, Radovan Cavallin, Nicholas Cox, António Saoite and others. He has participated in several orchestras including the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil, ESML Symphonic orchestra, ESML Wind orchestra, Orquestra Académica Portuguesa, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa and Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, in which he had the opportunity to work with conducteurs Jean Sébastien Béreau, Alberto Roque, JoséAugusto Carneiro, Roberto Alejandro Pérez, Jorge Matta, Steven Davis, Vasco PearceAzevedo, Christopher Bochmann, Martin André, João Paulo Santos, Felix Hauswirth, Pedro Carneiro, among others.
