Manuela Guerra (1996) was born in Puglia, Italy. She studied at conservatory Umberto Giordano in Foggia obtaining the Bachelor’s degree in composition in 2020, during in 2019 she attended courses at Sibelius academy in Helsinki, and in 2022 she obtained the Master in music composition at haute école de musique of Geneva in the class of Michael Jarrell, Louis Naón and Gilbert Nouno.
Her music is inspired by philosophical, poetical and literary ideas with interest on musical theatre, with a research on the connection between text and voice.
Her music has been performed in festivals such as Archipel, Out Hear New Music week, Mixtur, 8th S.Petersburg international new music festival, Rondò, Kaivos and others. She has worked with musicians such as Klangforum Wien, Asassello Quartet, Quartetto Sincronie, Keiko Murakami, Anna d’Errico, Vertixe Sonora, Divertimento Ensemble, Ensemble Contrechamps. In the next season of Création Mondiale for Radio France, she composed a new work for the Duo Face à Face. She composed a new work for the Ensemble Intercontemporain that will be performed on March 11th at Philarmonie de Paris.
