David Holzinger made is debut with Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra after stepping in on short notice for their main guest conductor Sascha Götzel in May 2021. Shortly before that, he was invited to conduct Beethoven's Symphony Nr. 9 at the Austrian Music Weeks Festival in Bulgaria with the chorus and orchestra of the State Opera Ruse, where he was already conducting an opera production as assistant conductor in the prior season (G. Puccini "Gianni Schicchi"). 

He is guest conductor at the german based opera company "Junge Oper Rhein-Main", where he successfully led opera productions at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl and the theaters in Rüsselsheim and Aschaffenburg in Germany (M. Egger "Caliban"). He is the founder and artistic director of the EXEDRA Ensemble with which he debuted at the opening ceremony of the Salzburg Festival 2017 and guest conductor of the "Opera plus" company in Vienna (E. Humperdinck "Hänsel und Gretel").

In 2019 He served as assistant of Beat Furrer for his opera production at the State Opera Berlin ("Violetter Schnee") and was assistant conductor of the "Neue Oper Wien" (P. Eötvös "Angels in America") and held the position of assistant conductor for four seasons at the "Tiroler Festspiele Erl" in Austria. Since the summer season 2016 he has been taking over the rehearsals for Rossini’s “Guillaume Tell” and being reinvited to lead the rehearsals for “Semiramide”, "Ermione" and Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata”.

With the Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra David Holzinger conducted several concerts on a successful one-month lasting tour to China. He was reinvited shortly after, to go on a second tour as the assistant of their principal conductor, Peter Santa. Among others the program included Gustav Mahler’s “The Song of the Earth”.

He was invited several times to participate in masterclasses at the RNCM Manchester with Sir Mark Elder and Clark Rundell where he worked together with the musicians of the Manchester Camerata. Further masterclasses led him to Nicolás Pasquet, Mark Stringer, Johannes Schlaefli, Christian Kluttig and Peter Guelke. His artistic work connects him with orchestras like the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra, the Filarmonia de Stat Sibiu as well as the Vilnius State Symphony Orchestra and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists.

David Holzinger studied orchestra conducting at the music university “Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden/Germany with Christian Kluttig and Steffen Leissner. During this time he was rehearsing and performing with orchestras like the Philharmonisches Orchester Plauen-Zwickau, the Elblandphilharmonie Sachsen, the Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie, the Erzgebirgische Philharmonie Annaberg/Aue and the Landeskapelle Eisenach. In early 2015 David Holzinger was assigned head of studies of the university opera production “Treemonisha” by Scott Joplin, with which he debuted at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. After accomplishing his studies as a violinist he began his conducting studies with Maximilian Cencic at the conservatory in Vienna.

As guest conductor he performed at the Berio-Hall of the Konzerthaus in Vienna with the Konzertvereinigung Wien orchestra as well as the ASO orchestra Vienna. He was principal conductor of the TU-orchestra Dresden and the Kammerorchester Dippoldiswalde in Germany.
