Damjan Jovičin (born 1995) is a Belgrade-based Serbian composer and pianist who belongs to the new generation of creative artists and composers of the Balkans. He finished his Bachelor and Master of Music Studies at the University of Arts in Belgrade and is now on a second year of Doctoral Studies in Music Composition in the class of professor Zoran Erić. He visited masterclasses and workshops held by Brian Ferneyhough, Tristan Murail, Mark Applebaum, David Rosenboom, Peter Adriaansz, Ulrich Krieger, Michael Daugherty and others. His work was performed during Darmstadt Summer Course for new music, ISA (International Summer Academy of University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna), Time of Music in Finland, Walden CMR(New Hampshire, USA), Belgrade Music Festival(Serbia) and Balkan Composer Competition where he received DAM festival award. Notable performers of Damjan's music include: Ensemble Oerknal, Orchestra of the RTS Serbian Broadcasting Corporation, Hermes Ensemble, Choir of the RTS Serbian Broadcasting Corporation, Mivos Quartet, Manojlović Quartet, Zagreb Flute Ensemble, String Orchestra of Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Belgrade Guitar Duo. Damjan is an active pianist, ensemble coordinator and he is giving concerts in the Balkans and abroad.
