Mauricio Kagel Piano and Chamber Music: A Masterclass and Two Concerts

Divertimento Ensemble - MILAN, ITALY
Call for Young Performers 2019
Professor Maria Grazia Bellocchio

In 2108 Divertimento Ensemble selected young pianists, soloists and chamber ensembles to follow a masterclass to be held by professor Maria Grazia Bellocchio and to perform in the programme of the Ensemble’s 2019 Rondò concert season, in two concerts dedicated to the piano works and chamber music of Mauricio Kagel.
Maria Grazia Bellocchio’s masterclass has consisted of eight sessions that took place in Milan, at Fabbrica del Vapore, from December 2018 to May 2019.
The two concerts took place at Museo del Novecento on the 5th and the 12th of May, and will be replicated in other Italian cities.

A special frame on Kagel’s metronome and the pedal that makes it bizarre!

This edition of the Call for Young Performers was a great experience! Six months of hard work and the exploration of a valuable repertoire that we might listen to only in too rare occasions…
Thanks to Maria Grazia Bellocchio for her extraordinary committment and thanks to all the musicians for their big efforts and success! Stiftung Kagel-Burghardt has endorsed the Call for Young Performers, Kagel Masterclass 2018/2019 donating three scholarships covering the participation cost.
