IRCAM’s multidisciplinary festival and academy, ManiFeste, the rendezvous for creation in Paris, places music in disciplines beyond the concert: theatre, dance, digital arts, visual arts. 120-140 young composers and performers from the world over take part in the academy every year.

In 2019, the academy invites the composers Raphaël Cendo, Stefano Gervasoni,  Marko Nikodijevic, Kaija Saariaho, the conductors Julien Leroy, Matthias Pintscher, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Ensemble intercontemporain (ensemble associated with the academy,) the Nikel Ensemble and the Quatuor Béla.  

Composers, musicians, musicologists, teachers, scientists… Every year, the academy attracts numerous auditors who attend workshop and master class rehearsals and take part in a series of associated events:

  • Classes given by guest composers, artists, and musicians
  • Conferences on the research and development at IRCAM
  • Special access to the IRCAM multi-media library
  • Free entry to the final workshop and master class presentations
  • Special ticket prices for the ManiFest-2019 festival events
  • Special discounts on the IRCAM Forum’s Premium membership

CONDITIONS

There is no age limit.

Registration fees: 200 €

These fees cover the entire academy (June 17—29, 2019), even if the auditor does not take part in all the academy events

Registration fees are due in full on Monday, May 21, 2019.

The academy does not offer any scholarships or housing. Participants must find their own housing.


APPLICATIONS

Applicants must create an account (or use an existing account) on the ULYSSES platform, complete their profile, and click on “apply” on the ManiFeste-2019 call for applications page. They must:
- Fill out all personal information (name, sex, age, nationality, address, valid ID, photo of the applicant’s face that can be used by IRCAM for access badges)
- Write a short biography (600 characters MAXIMUM) indicating their names, birth date, nationality, profession
- Present a CV (pdf) indicating their name, date of birth, nationality, profession, contacts, photo
- Submit a letter of motivation indicating the applicant’s name, date of birth, nationality, profession

Do not forget to read carefully Consent and Release Form to be accepted.
