On the occasion of the III edition of the Contemporary Cello Week | EstOvest Festival, Associazione EstOvest Festival Torino launches a "Call for Young Cellists" addressed to musicians of any nationality aged up to 30 years old.
6 selected cellists are given the opportunity to partake for free in the masterclasses held by some amongst the most prestigious interpreters of today's music. Cellists Renaud Déjardin, Francesco Dillon, Anssi Karttunen, Claudio Pasceri and Elizabeth Wilson will be indeed the faculty of the third edition of the Contemporary Cello Week | EstOvest Festival, which will take place in Turin (Italy), from the 25th until the 30th of October, 2023.
THE PROJECT
6 young cellists will be selected to partake in the masterclasses of the third edition of the Contemporary Cello Week | EstOvest Festival.
Attendance to the masterclasses does not require the students to pay any participating fee, but only to successfully pass the Call for Young Cellists. It will be responsibility of the students to cover their own expenses for travel, accommodation and meals in Turin, Italy.
The masterclasses will take place during the Contemporary Cello Week and will be held by the prestigious cellists hosted by the event in several sessions between the 26th and the 30th of October 2023. Arrival date in Turin: October 25th, departure date: October 31st.
The selected cellists will have one individual lesson with each of the guest teachers. The selected cellists will also attend lectures held by the guest composers and musicologists of the festival.
Furthermore, the selected cellists will partake in a concert of the Contemporary Cello Week. The repertoire will be communicated to the participants in due time and agreed upon by the teachers-concert artists.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The competition is open to young cellists born after January 1st, 1993.
The selection process of the 6 cellists will be evaluated upon video recordings provided by the candidate. The three required pieces do not need to be recorded three in a row, however each piece must not be edited or cut. The recordings shouldn’t be older than one year.
The application deadline is Monday, July 31st, 2023.
