7 Calls for Submissions are open for the DRUSKOMANIJA New Music Festival which will take place in May 2019 in Vilnius.

All entries are free. Open to all ages. All compositions must be previously unperformed. Chosen compositions will be performed at the DRUSKOMANIJA New Music Festival 2019.

OBS! Due to several different deadlines this call is displayed by the latest deadline.


Calls:

1. FREE MUSIC
Compositions including video, audio, graphics, text and other nontraditional notational methods of scoring, as well as improvisatory elements.

The Power Trio:
Håkon Berre (NO) – Drumkit, Percussion
Liudas Mockūnas (LT) – Saxophone (soprano, tenor, and bass)
Arnas Mikalkėnas (LT) – Accordion, Piano, and Drums

2. FLUTE
Ewa Liebchen (PL)

Instruments: Flute, Piccolo, or Alto Flute
Length: 7-10 mins

Further Information:
flute in C with C-foot joint;
We recommend composers investigate Pierre-Yves Artaud‘s or Carine Levine‘s books on extended techniques
The use of tape/live electronics is welcome

3. SILENT MUSIC
Twenty Fingers Duo (LT)

Composers are invited to write ‘silent music’. It is assumed that use of graphic scores as well as works with a live or fixed electronic element. The concert will be performed at midnight in a church in Vilnius.

Instruments: Violin and Cello
Duration: 7-10 minutes

4. PIANO RE-IMAGINED
Marta Finkelštein (LT)

PIANO RE-IMAGINED – This is an invitation for composers to address the phenomenon of the pianist‘s performance through a new performative prism, and to reconstruct the iconic and seminal practice of piano recitals.

Freedom of expression is actively encouraged (audiovisual works, extended techniques, performative creations, etc.) simply stay within the limits of the piano and the pianists sensibility.

5. VISUAL MUSIC
CONTEMPOR-ACCO (LT)

Composers are invited to write works for the accordion ensemble focused around the visual elements (i.e., ensemble and electronics, video, movement, etc.).

Instruments: 1-5 Accordions
Duration: 7-10 minutes

6. BIG BAND
Lithuania Academy of Music and Theatre Big Band
(lead by Tomas Dičiūnas)

Duration: unspecified (free)
Instrumentation:
Rhythm section: Drums, Bass Guitar, Guitar, Piano (and electric piano)
Saxophones: 2 Alto saxophone (one doubling soprano), 2 tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone
Trombones: 3 tenor trombones, bass trombone
Trumpets: 4 trumpets

The use of improvisation is allowed.
