Course Overview:
The offered Composition Course led by Mehdi Hosseini focuses on creating and
composing music that is steeped in the basics of oriental music theory, with an
emphasis on writing, and practical musicianship.
This semester course will be of interest to young and emerging composers who are
interested in or are influenced by Far and Middle Eastern philosophy and musical
culture, so that participants can explore alternative approaches in music composition
art, in which they will be prepared for the next creative steps in learning and using New
Music styles.
This online Course will give participants the opportunity to work on their music
compositions for several months, which gives students additional flexible time to focus
and work on their music writing. It will provide the participants with a minimum of 12
hours of individual lessons with Mehdi Hosseini. Each 1 hour lesson uses online
programs such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Skype.
By the end of the course, participants’ final composition will be performed and recorded
by Ensembles that are specializing in the performance of new music, such as
the ‘Répons Ensemble’, ‘Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble’, and ‘Vacuum
Quartet’.
Duration of the Semester Course and Dates:
The Semester course will run from October 24th, 2024 — March 31st, 2025.
Tuition Fees:
790 Euros must be paid fully via a bank to bank money transfer payment or be paid
by credit or debit card up-front.
● Under special circumstances, providing needed information, it is possible to pay
the tuition fee in two installments.
