Samuel Solís Serrano (Madrid, 1989) is an iberian composer, pianist, violinist and conductor. He studied piano and violin at the Conservatory in Madrid with teachers such as Marisa Villalba (Piano), José Cruzado (Chamber Music), Olga Vilkomirskaia (Violin), Hiro Kurosaki (Baroque Violin). He studied composition at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg with Adriana Hölszky and Tristan Murail with a focus on Violin performance with Anita Mitterer (Quatuor Mosaïques), Piano performance with Nadja Rubanenko and Conducting with Jorge Rotter. He continued his master composition studies at the Berlin University of the Arts with Elena Mendoza and a focus on Musictheater and Music-Dance. He has held piano and violin master classes with Dimitri Bashkirov, Eldar Nebolsin, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Sergey Teslia, Reinhard Göbel, Lukas Hagen, Igor Ozim, Quiroga Quartet, etc. He has held composition master classes with Brian Ferneyhough, Dieter Schnebel, Mathias Spahlinger, Peter Ablinger, Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf, Pierluigi Billone, Georges Aperghis, etc. He has participated on several occasions in courses and festivals such as Donaueschinger Musiktage Next Generation and Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik. He has worked with orchestras and ensembles such as Staatskapelle Berlin, Orchestra der Deutsche Oper Berlin, Camerata Salzburg, Rundfunkchor Berlin, Ensemble Recherche, Ensemble El Perro Andaluz Dresden, Ensemble Mosaik, Ensemble KNM Berlin, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Continuum XXI. He has received scholarships from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture, the Mozarteum University, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Berlin Senat, the German Ministry of Education and Culture, GEMA. He worked in important stages like Staatsoper Berlin, Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid, Teatro Monumental, Komische Oper Berlin, Friedrichstadt-Palast, Edinburgh Playhouse, Wiener Staatsoper. He has performed numerous concerts as violinist and pianist as well as conductor with different ensembles and orchestras in Spain, Austria, Germany and the USA. He has worked as pianist répétiteur at the University of Music and Performing Arts and with the Staatsballett Berlin at the Stiftung Oper in Berlin. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
