Simone Corti completed with honours his studies in composition in the Conservatory of Milan, and he is currently earning a master degree with Gabriele Manca. In the same Conservatory he obtained with honours a Bachelor and a Master in Piano. He’s now attending the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, under the guidance of Ivan Fedele.
He also studied conducting with J. Kalmar, L. Shambadal and S. Gorli for the contemporary repertoire. He attended masterclasses held by Philippe Leroux, Alessandro Solbiati, Mauro Lanza, Giacomo Manzoni.
In 2014 he won the AFAM composition prize (Divertimento Ensemble, Milan). In 2015 he was amongst the finalists in the International Composition Competition “Feeding Music, and in the same year he was finalist in the Premio San Fedele Musica in Milan. In 2016 he won the first prizes at the XVII edition of “Premio Trio di Trieste and at the second edition of the Conservatory Prize, held at the Milan Conservatory. His music has been commissioned by Divertimento Ensemble, Conservatorio di Milano, Associazione Chamber Music (Trieste), Associazione Amici della Musica (Padova), and performed by conductors Tito Ceccherini and Sandro Gorli, Divertimento Ensemble, mdi Ensemble, Trio Gaon, Trio Kanon and soloists Alfonso Alberti, Laura Bortolotto, Gesualdo Coggi, Lorenzo D’Erasmo.
