outHEAR New Music Week launches a Call for Applications open to all composers, regardless of age or nationality, for its 4th edition which takes place in Larissa, Greece, between November 2nd-10th, 2024.

Featuring prof. Franck Bedrossian and prof. Annesley Black as guest composers, Dimitri Papageorgiou, Orestis Toufektsis; World-class musicians from Klangforum Wien Miriam Overlach, Gerald Preinfalk, Dimitrios Polisoidis; the vocalists Ana Caseiro and Harald Hieronymus Hein and members of the Performance Program of Contemporary Music of the University of Music and Drama in Graz (PPCM), Dacil Guera, Daniel Dundus, Szymon Kaluny, Maria Iaiza.

Two groups of composers will be selected:
Group A of twelve (12) composers. Selected composers will be commissioned to compose a new work for three performers.
Group B of nine (9) composers. Selected composers will be commissioned to compose a new work for a soloist.

Works by all composers will be rehearsed, discussed, and finally performed at three final concerts. The exact instrumental formation of each commissioned work will be assigned by the organizers. All selected works will be recorded and videotaped. Additionally, each selected composers will have one hour peer to peer meetings with two faculty members, presentation at the 3-day Symposium, two rehearsals and a dress rehearsal with the performers.
