Klexoslab is a festival of contemporary music. During the week you can meet, listen to and work with musicians of the highest level and recognition in the field of contemporary music, as well as share experiences in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.
Throughout the week there will be reading sessions, talks and different workshops; you will be able to attend the cycle of concerts, in which the creations worked on by the students during the composition workshop will be premiered, as well as having comfortable work spaces.

COMPOSITION WORKSHOP
During the festival, a composition workshop will be held. Pieces or movements for the Klexos ensemble (4 saxophones and one performer with multimedia elements) or any derived formation will be worked on. Additionally, there will be other workshops (extended techniques, improvisation, etc.), talks, and roundtable discussions, and for Distracfold Ensemble (violin, cello, clarinet and e- guitar)
Registered active students will compose up to a maximum of 10 minutes of music to be premiered at the concert within the festival on July 26, at 20:00 in the San Francisco auditorium in Plasencia.
Registration fee active student: 200€ (6 places)
Students wishing to register for the workshop should send the following documents and information to klexoslab@klexos.es:
- Short Curriculum Vitae
- Fragment, sketch and/or information on the compositional idea to be developed in the workshop (instrumentation, technical and material requirements and estimated duration).
A recording and/or score of your authorship
The deadline for submission will be 26 May 2024 (23:59 Spanish time, UTC +1). Those admitted to the workshop will be published no later than 29 May 2024 on the Klexos and KlexosLab website and social media. Once published, those admitted will have to confirm their attendance and pay the registration fee (and accommodation if required) into the bank account detailed in the REGISTRATION section with a deadline of 2 June 2023 and complete the registration form (www.klexos.es/klexoslab).
1st phase (June - online)
- Presentation and brainstorming session
- Handing out of scores
2nd phase (face-to-face)
- Reading sessions with Klexos (a minimum of 2 reading sessions of 45 minutes)
- Work on the pieces for their premiere
- Group classes/mentoring with Alessandro Perini and Pedro González
- Free participation in the workshops with the ensembles invited to the festival.
Listening student registration fee: 50€
- Free attendance to classes and activities
- Free participation in the workshops with the ensembles invited to the festival
